As a result of the studies that started on 06.04.2016, a draft regulation was prepared and discussed in the university senate and our center was put into effect by being published in the Official Gazette dated 07.08.2016 and numbered 29794 with the name of "Fırat University Women's Studies Application and Research Center". The management bodies of Fırat University Women's Studies Application and Research Center (FÜKÇAM) were established by our Rector Prof. Dr. Kutbeddin Demirdağ as follows.

The main objectives of this center are to raise the status of women in society by developing sensitivity to women's issues, to ensure that the "Gender Equality Perspective" is placed in studies, programs and research on women's issues and to guide this, to support all studies to be conducted with this perspective, to organize awareness meetings not only for women but also for the opposite sex in order to create gender equality awareness, to organize activities that will support the development and education of our girls who will constitute the female population in the society of the future, and to provide awareness training.
